This ferry port is situated between Cowes and Ryde, in the North-east of the Isle of Wight and two miles west of Chichester. Fishbourne is on the east side of Wooton Creek, a picturesque tidal inlet, adored for the leisure sport of yachting. Wooton village, which is about 2.4 miles to the south of ferry port, is served by a variety of shops as well. The Royal Victoria Yacht Club and the famous 'Fishbourne Inn' are conveniently located near the ferry terminal.

The ruined Norman abbey and the Benedictine monastery including Quarr Abbey are well-respected by the visiting tourists. The Roman Palace was discovered in 1960 and has been an excavation site.
