About Guernsey

Guernsey lies to the south of England in the English Channel and is a British Crown Dependency. During the World War II, 1940-1945, Guernsey was the only German occupied islands on the British soil. The real development of the islands, through tourism and an influx of wealthy UK individuals, began in 1959. A stable government has ensured Guernsey a respectable standing in the world of offshore finance centres. The 1980s and the 1990s has seen the island gearing itself for e-commerce.

Guernsey, with a mix of amazing natural scenery and promenades along the cliff paths is a place to be for instant relaxation. The most popular tourist attractions are Guernsey Freesia Centre, La Claire Mare, German Naval Signals H. Q, Lihou Island, Victor Hugo's Garden, Le Vaux de Monel and La Varde Rock, Castle Cornet & Its Museums and Guernsey Aquarium. Guernsey Tourism website has details of all the other attractions.
