About Scrabster

Scrabster is a major fishing harbour and is located at the Thurso Bay, in North Scotland. This Viking land of old developed to be an important harbour around 1850s. The port is a gateway to Orkney, Shetland, Scandinavia and the Faroe Islands. Trains and buses are coordinated with the ferry timings for the speedy passenger transfer.

Its seaward views give out on the faraway cliffs of Dunnet Head to the north-east and the cliffs of Island of Hoy to the north. The spectacular views of the Old Man of Hoy and St John’s Head can be seen during the ferry crossing from Scrabster to Stromness. Lighthouse at Holborn Head is another tourist attraction in the ferry port.

Several pubs and restaurants make the night life of Scrabster colourful for the tourists, along with a reasonable shopping experience.
