About Weymouth
Weymouth is a town in the west country of Dorset on the southern Channel coast of England. It offers excellent cargo, pleasure trips and passenger ferries throughout the year. It is a great family vacation destination with a safe beach. This seaside port became more popular after a patronage of George III.
Monkey World near Wareham cares for the apes smuggled and sold as pets, in conjunction with Taiwanese authority. Nothe Fort commands a wide breathtaking view of the Dorset coast and overlooks Portland harbour. The construction of the fort had started in 1860 as a protection against the French. The Dorset and East Devon Coast, known as Jurassic Coast, has acquired the natural World Heritage Site status. Bennetts Water Garden, Deep Sea Adventure, Brewers Quay and Weymouth Sealife Park & Marine Sanctuary are some of the other tourist attractions in and around the port town. Hardy’s monument in memory of Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy near the Portsham village which lies about 7 miles away takes the tourists back into history.
